FIRST BANK OF DELAWARE

REPORTS 211% INCREASE IN THIRD QUARTER EARNINGS

AND 118% INCREASE IN YEAR-TO-DATE EARNINGS

 

Wilmington, DE, October 16, 2007 - First Bank of Delaware (OTCBB:FBOD), today reported third quarter 2007 earnings of $2,426,000 or $0.21 per diluted share, compared to $779,000 or $0.07 per diluted share for the comparable prior year period. Earnings increased by $1,647,000 or 211% in third quarter 2007 from the prior year comparable period. Earnings per diluted share for the nine month period ended September 30, 2007 were $5,456,000 or $0.47 per share based on average shares outstanding of 11,541,000, compared to $2,508,000 or $0.28 per share for the comparable prior year period based on average shares outstanding of 9,050,000. Earnings for the nine month period increased by $2,948,000 or 118% from the comparable prior year period. Total shareholders’ equity stood at $31,332,000 with a book value per share of $2.75 at September 30, 2007. Third quarter earnings reflected greater volume from internet based installment loans, credit and prepaid card programs. The Bank remains well capitalized.

First Bank of Delaware is a full-service, state-chartered commercial bank, whose deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The Bank is currently in discussions with the FDIC regarding concerns raised by the FDIC in connection with certain of the Bank’s credit card and lending programs.
